When I first embarked on my NLP Practitioner training two decades ago, my primary goal was to acquire new skills to manage my business more effectively. At that time, I was overwhelmed and stressed, hoping NLP would provide me with tools to handle my challenges. Reflecting on that experience now, I realize that NLP did far more than simply equip me with skills; it fundamentally transformed my approach to business and personal development.

Overwhelmed and Seeking Solutions

In the early stages of my career, I excelled in technical competencies such as sales and finance, but I struggled with leadership and staff management. My background was deeply rooted in the technical aspects of the property and insurance fields. As a result, I was well-versed in the technicalities but lacked expertise in inspiring and managing a team. This disparity left me feeling overwhelmed as I tried to juggle all aspects of my business. The reality hit hard—I needed help, and not just in terms of delegating tasks but in understanding and valuing the broader business functions beyond my technical expertise.

Uncovering the True Challenges

NLP played a pivotal role in revealing that my real issue wasn’t merely managing tasks but rather my relationship with people. I was primarily task-driven and struggled with managing and inspiring my team. NLP exposed gaps in my interpersonal skills, such as poor listening and impulsive decision-making. About fifteen years ago, I successfully built a competent team that could manage my business operations efficiently. This shift not only improved my business performance but also freed up time for me to explore new ventures. One of these ventures was starting my own NLP training business, where I could share the knowledge and strategies that had so profoundly impacted my career.
